What is the Lady Farmer Virtual Slow Living Retreat?
The Lady Farmer Virtual Slow Living Retreat is an online event taking place November 14th and 15th, 2020.
Our annual retreat is a time to gather with others who embrace a slow-living lifestyle and learn from one another. We bring together specialists in fields such as slow fashion, slow food, and conscious consumerism, offering classes and workshops on various topics including fermentation basics, growing food in small spaces, mending, baking with sourdough, natural dyeing and self-care. We incorporate mindfulness and movement through yoga and dance sessions, and slow living experiences such as nature immersions and farm-to-table meals to reconnect you with the earth. The weekend-long retreat has been in-person historically but will be online in 2020 due to Covid19 restrictions.
What is the agenda and workshop schedule?
The 2-day event will include a mix of workshops and speakers, a panel and a live podcast recording. Attendees will learn about gardening in small spaces, microgreens, fermentation basics, sourdough and kefir, meal planning, mending, how to make health boosting chocolates, and much more in the world of slow, sustainable living.

All ticket-holders will sign up for specific workshops on October 19th.

*Workshop selections will take place on October 19th and will be first-come, first-served. One-day ticket holders will attend 2 workshops, full weekend and VIP ticket holders will participate in 4 workshops.
For access to ALL workshops, recordings are available for add-on purchase to all ticket types, and are included in the VIP ticket.

Is the event live?
Yes, the event talks and workshops will all be guided live online through Zoom. Start time will be 10 am EST.
I can’t join that weekend, or can’t join both days. How can I participate?
The best opportunity to experience everything the retreat has to offer (even if you can’t join us live) is to purchase the VIP Ticket. With the VIP Ticket, you will automatically receive access to recordings of all workshops offered as well as a free 12 month membership to The ALMANAC, our upcoming paid membership platform.
You can also purchase one-day only recordings via the non-VIP ticket options.
All recordings will be accessible until March 20th, 2021. If you purchase a VIP Full Weekend Ticket, you will automatically have access to the recordings through September 20th, 2021. No additional purchase of recordings is necessary with a VIP ticket.
How long is the retreat?
Will recordings of the workshops be made available?
Yes! If you are unable to attend any part of the retreat live, you have the option to purchase a recording add-on.
Recordings are only available with the purchase of a ticket, and include all workshops offered.
All recordings will be accessible until March 20th, 2021. If you purchase a VIP Full Weekend Ticket, you will automatically have access to the recordings through September 20th, 2021. No additional purchase is necessary with a VIP ticket.
What materials and technology do I need for this event?
The event will be hosted on Zoom. A full list of any recommended materials will be emailed to class attendees in advance of the retreat.
Do I need to have a webcam?
No! Attendees can choose to be on camera or off.
Do you offer group discount rates?
We love that you and your family or friends want to experience the weekend together! For those that can do so safely, we think that would be a super fun thing to do and recommend you follow the CDC’s considerations for gathering. Logistically, this would still mean that everyone needs an individual registration in order to attend the workshops, classes, and speaking engagements.
We are unable to offer group discount rates.
Can I join if I'm outside of the US?
Of course, we’d love to have you! Retreat events will begin live at 10 am EST on both days, so if timing is an issue, we suggest purchasing recordings as well so you don’t miss anything. You will also need to check the “International Shipping” box at check-out to cover the extra shipping costs of your gift box.
How can I support someone who may want to attend but can’t afford it?
If you’re able and would like to contribute to our scholarship fund, there is a $10 donation add-on option at check-out. If you’d like to give a different amount, you can do so via our secure PayPal donation portal at this link. If there are any unused scholarship funds after the event, they will be allocated directly to Acres Of Ancestry Initiative/The Black Agrarian Fund.
Are there any scholarship tickets available?
If you are interested in attending the Virtual Slow Living Retreat but are unable to at this time due to financial constraints, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
What's your returns or refund policy?
Due to the nature of this event, we are unable to issue returns or refunds. We are, however, happy to transfer your registration to a friend of your choice if you are unable to attend and do not intend to purchase the event recordings. You may also donate your ticket to our scholarship program. Reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like us to transfer your registration to another person specifically or to the scholarship fund.
